Since I've been toying with my new fretless for the last two days, Les Claypool made his return as a source of inspiration.

Jimmy Johnson and whoever was playing on Jean Luc Ponty's "Enigmatic Ocean pt III".

Here a couple of examples, respectively. Both sound like they could've been played with a Thumb, though the first was recorded in '76 and the second in '85 I believe.

Pino Palladino, listening to NIN last tour clips on YouTube as well as his work with John Mayer.

I just found it was Ralphe Armstrong who also happens to play Warwicks these days.

I was impressed by the fact that he is so low-key and softly-spoken in his offstage demeanor- was also impressed that he took a 20 year hiatus from long-distance touring to raise his children.

… along with T.M. Stevens …and you know, inspiration goes way beyond what they play, but what they say, the enthusiasm, the overwhelming sense of their love of the instrument and the music.

Anthony Jackson--check out his work on Guy LaFleur by Steve Khan off the Eyewitness LP and Guy Pratt when he played for Icehouse in the early-80's (you can hardly recognize him, he's so young in the two concert vids below).

Our new band mates. They come from another musical terrain. The new style gives me a lot of space when creating basslines. Nice!
